Why this temple matters
One of the most visited places of worship in the world. On the seven hills of Tirumala, Lord Venkateswara is believed to stay in this age (Kali Yuga) to bless his devotees, and crores of pilgrims come every year.
The story
Srinivasa came to earth in search of Lakshmi and married Padmavathi, a princess. To pay for the wedding he took a great loan from Kubera, and devotees' offerings are said to help him repay it. Many pilgrims offer their hair as a sign of surrender.

The practical truth
- Darshan is booked through the official TTD system. Slots go fast, especially for weekends and festivals; we plan around what is available for your dates.
- Traditional dress is required for darshan.
- Expect waiting even with a booked slot. Elders and differently-abled devotees have separate arrangements; we check what applies to your family.
Timings, rules and festival dates change. We confirm the current details for every yatra.
